These five songs were recorded, mixed and mastered by Alain Paul during the cold Berlin winter of 2015/16. They feature a full band complemented with a flying pedal-steel (credits below) and The Wildfires' usual strong dual vocals and meaningful lyrics (also posted on this site). The physical CD version includes artwork by The Wildfires and Paul Bevoir, who has created album covers for Elvis Presley, Patti LaBelle, Status Quo and The Jetset, amongst others.
In summary, this album contains rich, highly personal folkpop.

Paul Bonin: Vocals, Acoustic guitar, Mandolin
    Adam Goemans: Bass Guitar
    Gidon ‘Gidi’ Carmel: Drums

Be With You 03:57
B with U I cried a thousand times How long have I been waiting I tried to tell how I feel about you Many times, with all the signs You came into my life Right when my hope was fading Cherishing the golden days When everything was fine, all the time Cos I’d rather look toward tomorrow than today But I’d like for you to know the journey that I’ve made Let me be the friend beside you, And the warmth inside you Grow in time, and all the time I’d be with you Halfway to paradise You’re like a constant craving Rainshine and sunny days can’t shake you off my mind, at any time And the days when the clouds are coming over Feel the rain, sometimes you feel the strain of it Trust me now, and keep believing, Calm the storm, call my name, I’ll come running back to you....
2.
Heart of Winter Cold the heart of winter Let it breathe, let it fall So until you turn to virtue once again Could I be too lost to find again Calm, the dawn is ending Casting shadows down on promises you made So until the day the memory starts to fade Could I find make my way, back to you again Sing it loud across the plains Sing for all that still remains To ease the pain Living only to survive Gone the time for asking why Light the fire the angels Looking downward over you, my friend ‘Til I’m homeward bound to see you once again Have I gone too far...
3.
Without You 03:53
Without You Oh yeah, I’ll tell you something Tell you one thing I think you’ve understood Well I’ll tell you something Tell you that one thing Ain’t doin’ us no good But without you, there would be no bright tomorrow Without you, you’re the echo in my mind Without you, I would find a way to follow Without you, leaving yesterday behind me Without you You’re such a wild thing So demanding A paradox for sure But I’ll solve your mystery Heaven help me That’s all I’m asking for Without you, there would be no bright tomorrow Without you, you’re the echo in my mind Without you, I would find a way to follow Without you, leaving everything behind And when you close your eyes That’s when you see the light You do your own thing, Make the birds sing, That’s all you wanna do And I’ll keep on dancing, And always chancing I can’t believe it’s true
4.
Wiser 03:48
Wiser Wiser, won’t you get wiser If you would walk before you run Would be the best for everyone Wise up, when you gonna wise up Now you’ve taken all your chances And you’re standing in the rain Things will never be the same, Now everyone’s calling your name Like the river, so you run That’s the price of fame right now You’re a little bit older You just shout tomorrow’s pain Wiser, can’t you be wiser now you’re done You’d deceive the world tomorrow Make a fool of everyone Wiser, won’t you be wiser than before Now you’re burning all your bridges And you don’t care anymore Silent raindrops, falling slowly down, for you and I And I never thought I’d live to see a rainbow cry Wiser, safe on your island in the sun So before you start forgetting ‘Bout the past you should regret so deeply Wiser, now that you’ve had your share of fun And our dreams have turned to ashes Are you proud you got place in History Wiser?
